AVIF encoding happens in your browser, and not every browser ships an encoder yet — current Chrome and Edge do it well, while some others can only decode. If the conversion falls back or fails, updating your browser or switching to Chrome for the batch is the fix. Decoding the result works everywhere modern.

- Yes, when converting to a format that supports an alpha channel (PNG, WebP, AVIF). For formats without transparency (JPG, BMP), you can pick a background color for transparent areas.
- Is my image uploaded?
