China Visa Photo (33×48 mm)

Size your photo to the 33×48 mm format used for Chinese visa applications, with a head guide, white background and printable sheet — entirely in your browser.

Privacy-first: every image is processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or transmitted to any server.

33×48 mm — an unusual size, exactly right

Chinese visa photos are 33×48 mm, a size almost nothing else uses: narrower and taller than the 35×45 mm European standard, so an existing passport photo will not simply crop down to it. Pick the China preset and the frame locks to 33×48 mm, exporting 390×567 px at 300 DPI. The head-guide overlay shows where to place the face; drag and scroll until it lines up, then fill the background white.

Digital upload or printed copy

Chinese visa applications may want a digital file for the online form and printed copies for the paperwork, so export a single image at 300 or 600 DPI, or a 4×6 inch sheet of copies with cut lines. Requirements change and vary by consulate — check the current guidance for expression, glasses and background shade. Everything is rendered locally with the Canvas API; nothing is uploaded or stored.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded to make the passport photo?
No. Everything — cropping, sizing, the background and the print sheet — is done locally in your browser with the Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.
Which passport and ID sizes are supported?
US passport/visa (2×2 in), EU/Schengen (35×45 mm), UK, India, China visa (33×48 mm), Canada, Australia, Japan and a generic ID size — plus any custom size you enter in millimeters. Each is exported at 300 or 600 DPI.
How do I position the head correctly?
A head-position guide (an oval with eye and center lines) is overlaid on the frame. Drag your photo to move it and scroll to zoom until the head and eyes sit inside the guide, matching official requirements.
Can I get a printable sheet?
Yes. Choose the 4×6 inch or A4 sheet option and PixelVault tiles as many copies as fit, with thin cut lines, so you can print them at home or at a photo kiosk and cut them out.
How do I get a plain white background?
Pick White (or any color) and it fills behind your photo. For a clean cut-out from a busy background, run your photo through the Remove Background tool first, then bring the transparent result here.
